General information
DS3231
INTRODUCTION:
The DS3231 is a low-cost, high-precision I2C real-time clock (RTC) with integrated
Temperature Compensation Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) and crystal. The device includes a battery input that maintains precise timing when main power is disconnected.
The integrated crystal improves the long-term accuracy of the device and reduces the number of components in the production line part count. DS3231 supplier and industrial temperature range, using 16 pins 300mil so package.
RTC saves information of seconds, minutes, hours, days of the week, date, month and year. Months less than 31 days the date at the end of the month will be automatically adjusted, including corrections for leap years. The working format of the clock can be 24-hour or 12-hour format with /AM / PM indication. Provide two configurable clock calendars and a configurable square wave output. Address and data are transmitted serially via the I2C bidirectional bus. Precision, temperature-compensated voltage reference and comparator circuits are used to monitor the status of VCC, detect power failure,
provide reset output, and automatically switch to backup power when needed.
Furthermore, the RST monitor pin can be used as a manual input to generate up reset.
In addition to high timing accuracy, the DS3231 also has a number of other functions, which are extended additional functions and the system host selection range. O
Device integrates a very precise digital temperature sensor, accessible via the I2C interface (as well as time). This temperature sensor accuracy is ±3℃. The on-chip control circuit can realize automatic power detection and manage switching between the main power source and alternative power source (low voltage battery). If grid power fails, the device continues to provide accurate time and temperature without sacrificing performance. When main power is restored, the on-chip reset function can be used to restart the system when power is applied or the voltage value returns within the microprocessor’s allowable range.
