DS1302 Real Time Clock Module
The DS1302 contains a real-time clock/calendar and 31 bytes of static RAM, which communicates with the MCU via a simple serial interface. The real-time clock/calendar circuit provides information on seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, and the number of days per month and leap year can be adjusted automatically. Clock operation can be decided in 24 – or 12-hour format by AM/PM indication. The DS1302 can communicate with the single chip computer simply by synchronous serial mode, and only three ports are needed: (1) RST reset (2) I/O data line (3) SCLK serial clock. The read/write data of the clock /RAM is communicated as one byte or as a character set of up to 31 bytes. The DS1302 operates with very low power consumption and holds data and clock information at less than 1mW
